Action Alert

I originally wasn't going to put anything political on this page. But two items that directly affect this station have come up that I can't be silent about.

This used to be a banner ad. But we live in colorado and amazon doesn't play well with others, understand the meaning of the word constitutional, and y'all didn't buy form them from the links here anyway.

While we would prefer to see no taxes on items purchased on the net, (heh who wouldn't) the reality is each net purchase pulls more dollars away from your local and state government budgets. It's a sad reality, taxes pay for your police and firetrucks and when you buy from amazon (and others) you get a great deal and do not support the local services you need to live. Well Colorado decided to do something about it. They didn't do it terribly well (lawmakers for frequently being lawyers) aren't businessfolks but Amazon's response was over the top, WRONG, and just plain silly.

The triple dumbass award goes to Amazon.com with a single dumbass award going to the colorado legislature who could have made a better law.

To the other 49 states and Colorado as well... pressure the national congress to put a National tax on internet sales that's far and apportioned out to the LOCAL governments. It's the only way it's going to work (can we say Deleware Corporation? I knew you could!).

In other news, pressure your congressman to pass a bill ensuring NET NEUTRALITY, i.e. Give the FCC the power to enforce it. They lost a court challenge to Comcast this last week. . Comcast (the beast from hell) won an important decision this week that allows them to choke your bandwidth depending on who and what you are doing. They HATE gamers, HATE internet radio and content providers even more. You want to continue providing crappy service to folks that just check their email for 30 bucks a month . Get involved NOW or all this (on line gaming, radio, downloading legal movies, etc will cost a lot more really soon if they exist.
